first year baby stats

Bijou recently celebrated her first birthday.  That means it’s time to check out her first year stats on breastfeeding and diaper changes. In case you’re wondering, we kept track of all of this data using Evernote.


Minutes Breastfeeding Per Day, Dec. 11, 2009 - Dec. 11, 2010

Additional breastfeeding stats:

  • 26,016 minutes spent breastfeeding (433.6 hours; 18.07 days)
  • average of 71.28 minutes per day
  • most time spent breastfeeding in one day was 178 minutes (almost 3 hours) on December 27, 2009
  • 13,579 minutes on the right, 12,437 on the left
  • average of 10.1 minutes per feeding on the right, 8.76 on the left
  • stats don’t include time spent pumping, and Gemma pumped for about 20 minutes per night for the last 6 months

Diaper Changes Per Day, Dec. 11, 2009 - Dec. 11, 2010

Additional diaper change stats:

  • 2,253 diaper changes
  • average of 6.17 diaper changes per day
  • most changes in one day was 13 on December 15, 2009
  • 1,144 poo diapers, 1,109 pee
  • stats don’t include clean diapers that were soiled during the changing process
